This is the lot in Nov 2007. Shortly after we bought the property
Oct 8, 2008: After a long wait for building permits from the Homeowners association the first step was clearing the lot.

The builder hopped to be able to provide a "daylight drain" meaning no sump pump would be required. He later said that to make the house high enough there would be a 6 ft rise from the driveway elevation to get to the garage door. Instead we went deeper and now need a sump pump. The specification of the pump is dictated by prefab foundation manufacturer, outside pit, alarms, industrial quality pump.

The foundation is complete. After an inspection the subfloor can be started.

Before the subfloor could be done 2 inches of rain fell resulting in about 4" of water in the excavation.

Oct 30, 2008: The logs were delivered a few days after about 8 inches of snow fell.

Also adding to the challenge the equipment the builder provided broke down and we had to unload the last bundle by hand.

The snow melted and another rain after the subfloor was built.

The water seems to be getting away even before the sump pump has been installed.

Nov 15, 2008: Logs are up to the top of the wall. Before the next course the supporting wall down the center will need to built which will support the loft area. This view is the laundry and bathroom.

This view is the front door. Notice the rope to pull wiring from the basement.

This view is the kitchen.

This is the front entrance with window to the downstairs bedroom.
